Santa Barbara Soccer Club Under-14 White Boys Team wins the Cal South National Championship this past weekend Saturday May 19, 2012 in Rancho Capistrano California.
SBSC won 7 games to become Champions against some of the top teams in the Country. In the final defeating last year’s National Champion the South Bay Gunners (1-0), goal scored by Chairat Puengrod and assisted by Francisco Arroyo. Shutting out the Gunners was a complete team effort on defense every player played solid defensively. Road to the Championship: Defeated South Bay Gunners (1-0) in the Final in Rancho Capistrano California.
Semi-Final defeated Pateadores (2-1) in Lancaster.
Quarter-Final defeated Attack FC (2-1) in Lancaster
Sweet 16 defeated CFC Untouchables (2-1) in Camarillo.
Round of 32 defeated Riverside FC (1-0) in Camarillo.
In Bracket Pool play to advance to the round of 32 SBSC won two matches:
Santa Barbara Soccer Club U-14 White defeated Poway Vaqueros (7-0) in Lancaster.
Santa Barbara Soccer Club U-14 White defeated Chivas USA Academy (2-0) in Lancaster.
This is the second Cal South National Championship that this team has won in two years. In 2010 SBSC won at the U-12 age group division and also won the Regional IV National Championship 2010.
SBSC was rated number 1 in the nation in 2010.
The Team will now compete for the Regional IV Championship next month from June 17th thru 24th in Phoenix Arizona.
If they win the Region IV Championship they will travel to Little Rock South Carolina for the National Championship in July 2012.
