Labor Sign Up
Thanks for your support! Your help is massively beneficial to SBSC and the service we are able to provide. All signups are taken on a first come first served basis.
You will have until 5PM August 17, 2010 to change or edit your sign up. After August 17th, 2010 all entries are final. Anybody who has not signed up, will be assigned a labor spot.
Be sure to allocate yourself a job that will match your skill sets. Please read the following job descriptions and then visit the sign up links below to complete your tournament obligation.
Santa Barbara SC - Tournament Job Descriptions
Concessions & Apparel
You will be responsible for the overall purchase and sale of tournament concessions and apparel.
• Obtain venue requirements from the tournament director based on venue location and number of fields.
• Carefully account for all monies handled through the concessions and apparel stand.
Scorekeeper
• Game cards for each and every game will be given to the field monitor.
• It is the Field Monitor’s job to make sure that the game cards are completed with signatures and returned to the Venue Director/HQ after the game.
• Once you have the completed game cards you must post the scores at the site and phone or text in the scores to the web scorekeeper (see contact list).
• Game cards will be pre-printed with the roster info from the tourney website.
Tournament Check In
All players of every team must be checked in by their team manager prior to their first game.
Check in requirements:
• Each player must have a Cal South Laminated picture player card and medical release form.
• AYSO and US Club Soccer teams are also permitted but teams cannot be made up of mixed player cards.
• A sticker is placed on each card to verify that it has been checked
• Write-in players are allowed if their player card is in good order. These players should be written in onto the sign-in roster.
• Once completed by the team manager the remaining write-in slots should be blocked out as no more write-ins will be allowed later in the tourney, write-in players are only allowed during the initial team check-in process.
Runner/Odd Jobs
Each Venue Director will have a person whose role it is to be a runner/odd job person. The venue director should use this person accordingly to do all and any odd jobs or running around that is required.
Venue Director
Venue Director is lead person at an assigned site, leading and coordinating all site activities.
Coordinate Tournament Day Volunteers
• Check in teams on Saturday if necessary
• Oversee Site Concessions
• Records and Reports Match Scores
• Site Referee Liaison
• Field Repair as Necessary
• Maintains Site (Litter, Trash and Restrooms)
• Act as field marshal, if one is not assigned
Field Monitor
• Check-In both teams before game, match face with name on card and jersey number
• Deliver Score-cards to the referees who may or may not hold on to them for the duration of the game
• After game ensure referee completes and signs score card. Make sure both teams view and sign score card.
• Deliver scorecard to Venue Director/HQ
• Maintain field cleanliness before & after matches (trash pickup)
• If any incidents arise before, during or after each game please inform your Venue Director ASAP
